Gas Diesel Engines can run on diesel or on diesel mixed with gas.

The ship’s power comes from six marine diesel engines, three Wärtsilä 16-cylinder common rail diesels producing 18860 kilowatts (25290 hp) each, and three similar 12-cylinder engines each producing 13860 kilowatts (18590 hp). The total output of these prime movers, some 97020 kilowatts (130110 hp), is converted to electricity, used in hotel power for operation of the lights, elevators, electronics, galleys, water treatment plant, and all of the other systems used on the operation of the vessel, as well as propulsion.__________________________________________________________________________ Oasis measures 225282 gross tons, almost half again as large as the runners-up, the vessels of the Freedom class, and several times larger than Titanic, of 46329 gross register tons (a different measure of tonnage). Its displacement – the actual weight of the vessel – is estimated at approximately 100000 tons, about the same as that of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. To keep the ship stable without increasing the draft excessively, the designers created a wide hull. About 30 feet (9 m) of the ship sits beneath the water, a small percentage of the ship’s overall height. Wide, shallow ships such as this tend to be “snappy”, meaning that they can snap back upright after a wave has passed, which can potentially be uncomfortable. Marine Diesel….with starter-generator. This Starter-Generator Combo unit is very simuliar to a golf-cart starter-generator. It’s a Bosch Unit very much`like the ones used on early Harley-Davidson Gas powered 3 wheel golf carts. It came to me a mess. All the wires were twisted inside from miss handling of the main terminal. I restored the unit to like new condition and adapted a New Delco 12 volt Regulator to control it. A Ford Starter Relay works the “Start” side of the circuit. (Thats the bigger Red wire running behind the unit. This is a great addition to any small engine up to 20 hp not equipped with a starter or charging system. This little diesel has`a compression release to allow you to ’spin’ the motor and use the heavy flywheel as help in starting an engine with 450-500 lbs compression as a diesel has.
